On September 2nd, Native Voices' popular First Look Series returns to the Autry, with a fully staged reading of Tombs of the Vanishing Indian, by esteemed First Nations playwright Marie Clements (Metis). Inspired in part by the migration of American Indians to urban Los Angeles in the mid-20th century, along with the Autry’s Southwest Museum of the American Indian collections, the play speaks of loss and change, obstacles overcome and barriers broken. This event, which helps kick-off our Tenth Anniversary Season at the Autry, will be followed by a talk-back with the playwright, director, dramaturg, and cast.
*This presentation will take place at Autry National Center's Wells Fargo Theater, and begins at 7:30pm on Wednesday, September 2nd. Tickets are free; Reservations are strongly recommended - please call 323.667.2000, 354 to leave a message reserving seats for the date, or write to: nativevoices@autrynationalcenter.org
